A Geekish View of Life

Mahoromatic, that’s the proper spelling of that show. Whew. Okay it’s been an interesting day. Not at all what I had planned. But that’s okay too. The morning found me raking leaves, it’s more fun that you might expect, altough it did delay my posting, ::sigh:: oh well. The number of people who actually read this I can count on one hand. But so it goes. Any way. I spent the afternoon and early evening helping my friend at the FBI Fingerprint-a-thon at Vallco. It was pretty interesting. Very chaotic. But fun. Also met some cool fellow anime fans. The funny part is they are both named Laura. em . . . it’s late again. I’ll write more later. meh.

WAIIIIIIIIII!!! Hurray for anime! Just got back from the weekly anime club meeting at SFSU. It was sadly our last meeting but it was really fun. Despite technical challenges. We watched: VanDred, You’re Under Arrest, Those Who Hunt Elves, Risky Safety, Mahorobmatic (I think that’s spelled wrong, but it’s 1 in the morning give me a break. I’ll correct it when I wake up) and AMVs (Anime Music Videos). One of the highlights of the evening was actually winning something out of the weekly drawing! I won! YAY! What did I win? I won the main feature of the night, Millennium Actress A very lovely movie from the director of Perfect Blue which was beautiful . . . and yet soooooo disturbing. ::shiver:: Anyway. This movie is more lighthearted and sentimental. I recommend it! Okay. Now to sleep. I’ll probably post again in the morning. Well when I wake up later that is.

Heh. Okay I’m a sucker for these quiz things. I promise not to over do them since it can realllllllly slow down the page load. But yeah one of my current anime obsessions is Haibane Renmei. So far I have only seen the first 5 episodes but it is really pretty. The art and animation are quite nice. The characters loveable and overall an enjoyable series. But there seems to be a weird sorta sinister cloud that hovers just outside the visible edge of the story. It may just be me being paranoid but I as soon as the Toga characters showed up I had this weird vibe from them. Anyway. Over at quizilla.com I did one of the “Which character Are You” quizzes. ::sigh:: I have done these before, without having a place to post them. I really don’t mind the characters I tend to get, I like them a lot usually. But for crying out loud why are they always girls?! (0.0) Like I said I have nothing against them, but geez I’d like to think that every now a then I could get to be a male character, since that is what one would expect me to be. Oh well. Enough of my grousing. Go watch Haibane Renmei! It’s good for you! OH and Wolf’s Rain too! (yes I know the site is mostly in Japanese, but the gallery link works and it’s really cool looking)

I know. This is a standard template with some new colors. As I learn more about CSS and the fun things it can do I will try make this more interesting. So it may have a couple of odd starts. My comic may go through the same thing. Ack. I can’t believe I’m actually gonna try to do a web comic. I must be crazy or something.

OMG!! I just found the coolest little app ever! It’s call SlickRun. I found it on The Screen Savers site. Or you can go the the offical website. It takes all your favorite tasks and access to programs without taking your hands off the keyboard! Waiiiii~!

OK. Here’s to making my life easier. This is hopefully just the beginning. It’s a little nerve racking signing up for a new service. But if all goes well this will be a rewarding experience for all. Stay tuned I promise to post here at least once a week. If you get more then I was probably avoiding doing the work I should have been doing. Heh. ^^;;;
