Fanime Wrap up . . . till I get enough energy to do more . . .

Tired . . . bone weary tired . . . But I had a blast. Fanime is so much better with someone to hang out with and it’s really cool when you attend for more than one day. I really enjoyed it. And I have pictures of the prettiest girl at the con. Granted I’m biased but she really looks absolutely fabulous. I’m gonna have to save up for next year. And I may even pre reg. ::ponder:: I may also cosplay. Just gotta come up with a good costume. I’m thinking something to complement the her Wolfwood costume. No she’s not cross-playing. It’s an alternate world Wolfwood who is female and sexy! In that costume there are many many people who want her picture. She also has a drool worthy Faye costume. Not just any Faye, I’m talking about Ballad of the Fallen Angels Faye. ::drool:: If you have seen the episode then you’ll know what I mean. I may post some pics too. But the whipped cream on top was her chong sam. ::droooooooooooooooool:: OMG! I have a weakness for chong sams to begin with and wow . . . that was just . . . ::droooool:: Mmmmmmm MMMMmmmm good. ^_^;; Heh. Yeah. As she likes to say “Silly boy”. But when faced with such a lovely sight how can one not be a little silly? Okay. I’m gonna crash soon. Take care all.

Dooooooood! I’m actually gonna be at Fanime for the whole friggin’ weekend! I am sooooooo excited! Big thanks to my GF for pitching in a little to bring up my funding to the level of a all weekend pass. Thank you! ::hugggggggggggggggggs and kisses too!:: ^_^ I’ve already been to the Pockybot and MegaTokyo panels! And I got to see Evangelion ReDeath ReDux plus Battle Royal 2! Weeeeeee! ::giddy little dance::

I should mention that my GF cosplayed as Wolfwood, if Wolfwood had been a girl and dare I say . . . hot! I unfortunatly forgot my digi cam so you’ll have to wait for photos. But I can say that the pics are well ‘tasty’. Well I think it’s pretty yummy. ^_^ But then again I’m kinda biased.

You all need to go read Pockybot! It is very very odd. Very random. And all around good stuff. It’s kinda like Space Ghost Coast to Coast in that the humor is not always what one would expect. But if you have any 80s video game nestalgia and like very random odd humor then it’s a wonderful place to be. I think it’s cool anyway. Also the art is truely distinctive. So check it out!

Eva ReDeath ReDux is hilarious! When I find the website I’ll post a link. Tomorrow is Nescaflone! w00t! More anime hilarity! yay! I am still shaking from all the fun … or maybe it’s just the Red Bull and lack of sleep. Speaking of sleep. Mmmmmm sleeeeeeep. I’ll post more tomorrow. w00t! Thanks to my girlfriend, for being so trusting and further more and more importantly understanding when a ‘kernel panic’ sets in. (Yes that was a very geeky reference. A Fond Farewell

It’s a rather sad day. One of my favorite shows from TechTV, Call for Help, is not going to make the cut as Tech TV and G4: the gaming network become G4TechTV. For those who know, this was an excellent show for the non tech savvy. Leo did an excellent job of making the Personal Confuser (PC) a manageable and useful item for people who may not have grown up with one as I did. Leo, Cat, Roger and crew you will be missed. ::raises glass:: To helping even a jaded computer savvy dork look at the computer in new ways. Plus it made me feel smarter because I could answer the questions almost as well as Leo! w00t! I am smrt! I am smrt! S – M – R – T, smrt! ^_^ But honestly, Call for Help will be missed. In some ways it was better than the Screen Savers. But that’s mostly because I like Leo, he was quite the Mr. Personality. ^_^ Supposedly Cat will still be on the G4TechTV staff. I’ll just have to keep my eyes peeled for her. It sounds like the rest of the crew is going to take some time and reassess their next move. Best of luck to all of you!

Yes, folks, one of my all time favorite dreams. To be a comic guy . . . not like the one from the Simpsons. ::shudder:: I pray I never turn into that guy. No I mean a guy who does comics. It has been in the back of my mind do it for years. This summer, God willing and my self determination not withstanding, I will begin my illustrious first steps into starvation. No, no, no that’s a joke. But I have no illusions about making money doing comics. My plan is to have a wonderful vocation, not a job . . . jobs are for fast food, that allows me the freedom to follow my dreams and hobbies. Hobbies are a commitment but if forced to put them on hold they can be temporarily sacrificed. Although trying to get people to quit hobbies can be an exercise in frustration. I hope that is how it will be with me and my comics. I want to love doing them sooooooo much that I just can’t stop doing them. And if all goes well maybe . . . maybe I’ll be able to do them as a profession. But that’s a big “maybe”. I am aiming to enjoy myself and hopefully have a few who will enjoy it too. ^_^ Okay. Back to work on not doing my paper. Gah! Focus! “Control. Control! You must learn control!” – Yoda

Never thought I’d see this! Mac OS X on a PC box! On a PPC it’s still better but it really makes one reconsider the whole Windoz thing. ^_^

For Geeks, a Short History of UNIX

We (the geeks) are all quite aware of the Linux rush. A systems designed using the UNIX ideas and implementation. And all in all making a better OS than Windoz. No matter how much I like XP I’d rather be tinkering with a UNIX box. This doesn’t mean I’m a UNIX geek . . . well not yet. I’m working on it but currently I’m more of the arty/designer geek so my aims and goals are a little different. I want an OS that works and that does what I want it to, which is why I really really really like Mac OS X. I like the Mac OS in general, they seem to have a better way of “just making things work”. My Wacom tablet works like a charm on my old iMac from way back in 99, yup, it’s lime green and lickable. But on my barely a year old Dell Inspiron 5150 I find that the pressure senseitivity suddenly and fairly randomly drops. This may be more of a product of Photoshop but it is till a very odd bug. I’ve found ways around it but I think I’m going to stick to my trusty Mac for most of my design stuff. But here I am wondering far afield. Back to the point.

Andy Tanenbaum is a well respected member of the CS (Computer Science) field. He was recently interviewed for a book about the UNIX vs. Linux stuff. He has posted an interesting article about it here. If you have an interest in the subject it is quite interesting. Plus you can still get a copy of his “home brewed” os MINIX. I hope you find it as facinating as I did. Although it may be a cure for insomnia for many of you. Take care all.

Wow…it’s been awhile.

Sorry about that.

Things have been kinda crazy recently. 1) nearing the end of school [always crazy] 2) I asked a girl out . . . and she accepted [crazy . . . happy crazy]. So I’ve been very very very distracted the past couple of weeks. Sorry for no updateing as often as I have been. It’s just that she is such a pleasant distraction. If you ever ask her she has a really great story about just how plesantly distracting she can be. It makes me blush and her laugh, so that’s good right? I say it is, that’s what matters. ^_^

There is more. But that will have to wait for when I have finished my final painting. Which should be next week so hopefully this time next week will be a new blog stuff. Okay. Take care all!
