Flash Games … aka Life Wasters
This game is almost as fun and addictive as Tetris. Almost.
Not by Bread Alone
As the Good Books says, “Man, shall not live by bread alone.” Naturally. He lives on kisses. *ahem* Well it’s a theory at least. I can’t speak for My Lady but I know that although my lunch was meager by many standards I didn’t feel hungry till I got home this evening. I think part of this is due to the fact that I got real-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-y nice kisses from My Lady. So I’m thinking that bread alone doesn’t do it … but kisses go a long way. ^__________________^
In other news. Our house has a new bird. This new bird has a very yellow belly with a brilliant splash of green on his chest. I got to name him and the slash of green made him look like he was wearing a yellow waist coat and had on green shirt. The image made me think of the old caricatures that I had seen of old WWII admirals and generals and stuff. So I named him Admiral Pennworth. And that’s the latests from here. Catch you all on the flip side. Take care.
Commercials lie
I woke up at 6:30 this morning. Partly because that’s when I wake up duing the rest of the week, but also because I wasn’t sleeping very well. See last night I went to go see The Grudge. I’m sure a few of you are thinking, but the commercials are kinda cheesy. Yeah. That’s what I thought to, which is why I agreed to go with my firends in the first place. Well the moive is actually creepier than the commericals by a wide margin. Espeically when the director gives up on digital effets and focuses on using the camera, situation and sound effects to create the mood. Which still is lingering on me. It’s rather like walking though a dense pack of spider webs. The walking though isn’t so bad it’s suddenly finding the spider in the mess that makes it “scary”. Then the spider webs are, at least in your mind full of spiders and they are going to eat you. It’s that kind of creepyness that pervades the rest of the film. It is a pretty well structured suspense film. You know what comes next and sometimes that adds to the creep out factor, sometimes it is the creep out factor.
The strongest part of The Grudge is probably its visual design. I don’t know who the sick people were who did the visuals but they did a first rate job of making images that are still haunting me. Running a close second is the sound design. A very well structured audio experience is about ten to twenty times creepier than the visual alone. Just watch any of Hitchcock’s films and you’ll know. So yeah. This film is still kicking around in my skull. I am a very strong visual and auido stimulated person, so I’m doubly scrwed. To think I could have had a nice quiet night home with my Gamecube and Windwaker. ::sigh:: The demands of a social life. Or at least an attempt at it. I’m thinking that probably by the end of the day I’ll be back to my “normal” self. But that doesn’t mean the visuals are any less creepy. ::shiver:: Expected but well done. I heard one girl say that it was better than The Ring. While I doubt that, I’d still give it an 8.5 out of 10 creep factor. Well that’s all for now. Take care all.
Another facinating story from blog-dom
The world’s thoughest athlete!
And there are peope who say girls can’t hang with the boys? I’d like to see some guys try to beat her record. I have soooooo much respect for people who do these events.
May the (many variant versions and inconsistancies of the) Force be with you.
I love Slashdot. It is very possibly one of my favoite places on the internet. That isn’t a comic or a cartoon site. Here’s one more reason why Slashdot is “News for Nerds”.
Detialed Changes in the Star Wars DVD
Or jump directly to the site:

The article is both facinating and telling. It also reminds us why we love the ‘renegade’ dvd’s made from the LaserDisk sets!
Well still no break …
Well the house sitting job is done. The family is home and the dog seems happy. I have been paid … but I am still way low on the sleep and rest quotent. ::sigh:: I can’t seem to get over this deficit I’ve had … pretty much since the beginning of the semester. Blah. Now I have to finish writing my paper. Blah. Take care all.
Almost there
Hey all. I am nearing the end of my time as a house/dog sitter. It’s been fun, I can’t complain. took my lady to go see Garden State last night. I like that movie, she seemed to like it too. That was fun, although we ended up having to catch the late show and it was close to midnight before I got home. But so it goes. ::sigh:: I miss her already.
Ugh. It’s nap time. But I’m too thoughtful right now for naping. A friend of mine has a common salutation er farewell, “Be good.” It does’t seem like much till you really think about it. Or in my case maybe over think it. For whatever reason today … I contempated what the phrase actually says. “Be good.” Sounds easy enough don’it. Be good. But lets look at the dictionary, 2. morally upright; virtuous. [Wordsmyth] That’s what gets me and beats me up. It’s not that I think I’m some sort of horrible person … but I don’t think I can classify myself as ‘good’. I know it’s illogical to try to do that but still, I feel compelled to try to live up to it. Bah. Maybe it’s just my over exhausted self speaking again. Blah! Never mind. I’ll try to post again later when I have a better ‘feel’ of what I’m tryiing to say.
