Grades … yeah

June 16, 2005

Out of morbid curiosity I checked my grades today … actually about 5 min ago. And they ran pretty much as I expected them too. I was hoping my painting grade would be higher … but B+ ain’t bad. I failed one class. But I saw that coming like one sees a freight train. And I eeeked a passing grade out of my art history. But all in all my grades sucked ass.

In other news … it seems that I am ineligible to register … Huh?

Good day!

June 15, 2005

Today was a good day. My Love, Elaine came down last night. We got to be all snugglie and stuff in the morning. Then we had yummy lunch at Chevy’s, mmmmmm crab and shrimp ‘dillas! After that we went to see Batman Begins. Holy crap wow! Best Batman movie to date … well okay some may disagree with that but it is definatly back in the kick ass groove of the first two batman movies. Batman was very well fleshed out and much more deeply involved in this film. I totally dug it! Especially since it features enemies that aren’t part of the normal ‘crew’. Plus even though there were two villians there was not the rather haphazzard joinging of the characters. The story really felt as if it could have been real. Plus with a much larger portion of the film taken up by Bruce’s parents we really get a much better idea of why Batman feels so deeply about their death. Plus the who bat theme has a much more logical answer. All in all it roXorz teh s0xorz. Good action, satisfying story, good characters. Best of all not a single neon light or glow painted shmuck to be seen. Gothom feels real and really in a state of rapid growth and decay. It feels old and new at the same time. A little like NY or Chicago. Suffice to say … go see it! I doubt you’ll be disapointed.

Read … then Listen!

June 11, 2005

Okay folks time to pimp some of my web comic favorites. Today is Sore Thumbs. I’ve mentioned it before but this Friday was espeically good because they put up a link to a most hilarious song, called Geroge Lucas Reaped Our Childhood. I’ll let you guess what it’s actually about. So funny … and sadly true.

Live! From Linux!

June 9, 2005

Well this is the first post from my Linux machine. It’s nothing fancy just a post through the web form. I need to find a Linux based interface with the Blogger api. I guess I could write my own … but I’d have to learn programming to do that. Not impossible … but maybe not right now. Hmmm … I do hear that PHP and Python are pretty easy … well that’s for later … right now I’m focusing on getting Azureus to run properly and finding the web folder for Apache. I know, I know read the fsking wiki … I’m working on it I just now have been getting all the little packages I want installed. I was up till like 2 last night doing that … but that’s mostly because I’m a moron who doesn’t know when to sleep. Well back to wiki searching I go.

Victory!

June 7, 2005

Yesterday, Monday, I bought a Motorola WE800G. And it was giving me fits! I completely unable to configure the thing to work. But today! Today I am victorious! I upgraded the machine I was using from Win 98 to Win XP pro. It made all the difference in the world! OMG it was nice. I ran the little app on the disk and it allowed me to access the bridge which allowed to actually set it up and get it running without have to reboot the damn thing over and over again! Huzzzah! ::big geeky grin:: This doesn’t make me a l3th4l h4X0r … but it does make me feel better about being able to solve problems. Now to install Ubuntu Linux and actually start making myself a haXor.

OMG! Macin-tel!

June 7, 2005

Uh … Wow. It’s true. The Mac OS is going to the X86 processor. I just watched the keynote speech by Mr. Jobs. Yep. Mac OS on Intel based machines! It’s … both cool and … worrying. Cool because it could really open up the Mac to all the people who want to switch … but need that one program that ties them back to their Windoz box. This may kill that need for people. A single machine that has the potential to run ANY app from the PPC base, and the contemporary OS X.4 code … and if anyone will allow it … run any standard Windoz app. I hope someone does this. If it happens those computers will be the single most awesome computer ever! I would only need 1 machine! I can have everything I want in a single box! With a little hacking I’m pretty sure I could put Windoz and Mac OS X on the same HDD, which means that I could use Mac OS for everything … and then when I have to go to Windoz I can just pop up a little window and get that done whlie I continue to stay nestled in the loving, beautifuly powerful arms of OS X. I pray that Apple plays their cards right with this. Because I’d like nothing more than to ditch my ctrl key for the cmnd key. Although I will kinda miss the ‘windows’ key. I’ve found that to be pretty useful. But I’m sure I can assign most of that function to a ‘F’ key in OS X.

In other news … Windows gets Quicktime 7! That means HD video! W00t!

[Listening to: GIRLS DON'T CRY - The Pillows - Please Mr. Lostman (2:31)]

The Blog is a wonder of the modern. It is the web thing that every one can do besides IM and e-mail. This brings up issues with content. There are many people out there making things that people actually want to read. Then there are people like me who … well … we’re rather less exciting. Nothing on this page is earth shattering or even really all that interesting. It’s just my little three pound processing center trying to make sense of the world around me. Or things that I have found that are interesting.

The sad part about my ‘finding’ things is that I didn’t really find them. They usually come from news sites like Slashdot, and Digg. Occassionally there are some honestly cool stumblings of mine … but mostly I’m too lazy to find any of this stuff on my own so I end up having it fed to me. That said … I think Digg is better than Slashdot. I find the interface easier to understand and navigate, thus I find more that is interesting and it makes it a better site.

Well that said … here’s some stuff out on the net that’s pretty damn cool.

  • Google for Mac!: yep a search destination that will give you everyting Mac! How rad is that?
  • The Dog Blog: It’s photos of dogs. What’s not to like?
  • Personalized Google: Yup. Google for you. Plus it seems better than My Yahoo. Which I also like BTW. I like any thing that makes my surfing life easier. This is why I love tabbed browsing in Firefox, and bookmarks > ‘go to folder you want’ > open in tabs. Life just doesn’t get much better than that. Espeically when you have 49 online comics bookmarked.
