I want one!

Welsh Corgi [from youtube]

Just too damn cute! I so want one. It even smiles! Well in a doggie way.

Well, It’s 4 am

October 31, 2006

I am up now … because I had to finish Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men.  Yes, I had to.

My friend Joey introduced my room mate and I to Supernatural, a show from the WB.  The ads that I saw left me feeling like ‘Meh’.  But the show is actually quite good.  And quite creepy.  So … yeah, had to read Astonishing X-Men.  But I’m done now and I’m going to bed.

Before I go.  If you like the X-Men, if you liked Firefly, if you had any love for Buffy, read Astonishing X-Men.  It is that good.

Finally more

October 26, 2006

Well I know some of you (hell there’s really on three people who read this drivvel) have been wating for more of my story.  I actually sat down and wrote some more.  Here it is.

Gil, charged though the rain drops ignoring the water that rolled off his hat and down his back.  While he ran he muttered curses at the forces that would make it rain for a solid week. Then he cursed his alarm clock. Then he cursed the subway. Then he gave up cursing and focused on running.

Wii-ly cool

October 24, 2006

Sorry about the reallllly cheezy pun … I just couldn’t resist.

Anyway I found this little animation from Digg. It is a fan film devoted to what some think will be the next big thing. Although if Sony can actually deliver on the promises it made at the Tokyo Game Show, it will be a force to be reconnded with. But with fans as dedicated as this person, Nintendo is also a force, kinda like Apple. It may be “smaller” but it is dedicated.

A Bit of Stein

October 21, 2006

I got this as part of a forwarded e-mail. I hate forwarding and receving forwarded e-mail. Only because it usually means scrolling through a long list of people who it was sent to … and on several occasions never actually getting to the stuff that was intended to be sent. Still there is sometimes a gem at the end of all the forwarding crap. Today I actually got something that is at least interesting.

Apprently this came from the mind of one Ben Stein, yes, the guy from Farris Buler’s Day Off, and from Win Ben Stein’s Money. His profession is apprently law, altough he seems to have a talent for the theatatic. But if you know a little about Mr. Stine, that should be suffencient. If you really want more check out his Wikipeida page.

Without further mindlessness from me, Mr. Stein.
Herewith at this happy time of year, a few confessions from my beating heart:

I have no freaking clue who Nick and Jessica are. I see them on the cover of People and Us constantly when I am buying my dog biscuits and kitty litter. I often ask the checkers at the grocery stores. They never know who Nick and Jessica are either. Who are they? Will it change my life if I know who they are and why they have broken up? Why are they so important? I don’t know who Lindsay Lohan is, either, and I do not care at all about Tom Cruise’s wife. - the rest is at his site.

I did not put all of the text here because that’s not my role. I believe that actual content creators should at least get some credit for the work they do, even if they are wealthier than I’ll ever be in the next ten years. So follow the link and let Mr. Stein have the unique page views and the credit he deserves.

An Unusual Tip

October 20, 2006

Yesterday, I got an unusual tip in the tip jar at work. I got a pass for two to the Improv in San Jose. That’s just cool. ^_^

Prayer.  Most people hold the opinion that it is a long drawn out process of many many supplication’s, aka requests, and then a sorting and incubation period before your request is actually handed to The Lord, at which time the request may be defunct and no longer timely.  Or maybe the focus of said prayer is unable to reap the rewards that the prayer was supposed to cover.  Basically some think that prayer is like bill or a case put to the government.  Well sometimes it really does fell like that.  And then every so often God likes to keep us on our toes and changes the pace of things.  Which is to be expected since there is no waiting line for God’s ear.

Here’s the story.  A few weeks ago bad things happened between myself and a co-worker.  Details are not needed.  Nothing too horrible happened but it was an event that if I could do it over I would like to believe I would have handled it differently, but that my be arrogance on my part.  Suffice to say things between myself and said co-worker are well … rocky is a word … but it’s not quite right, but it’s the best I got right now.  Anyway today this co-worker was … challenging.  The actions of this person are beginning to annoy me … which I know is the purpose of said actions, so it’s darn frustrating when you know you’re playing the other person’s game.

That all said, as I was driving home I prayed that God would either fix my attitude or help my co-worker.  Well God decided to fix me right up.  He had a good friend I made at SFSU call me up, not even 2 minutes after I said “amen” … or would have said it … I don’t always end my prayers … ‘properly’.  But God is merciful and good and the call was just what I needed to get out of my little funk.  Anyway, just a little anecdote about how God’s time table isn’t always a slow one.  Have a great day!

On Da TV! Well … almost.

October 3, 2006

Well almost this link will take you to a site where my friends and I have posted a fan film we made based on D&D. There are over 40 different films of varying levels of quality. I’d like to believe ours is better than average, but the reality may not be the same. The site has has it’s problems, they actually had to reset the voting, I suspect because there were some clever people out there that broke the rating system, now you have to enter a set of text, which helps keep the ‘bots’ off the page. So browse around, but make sure to vote! (hopefully vote for us!) - Link agian just in case you missed it the first time -
